How much details are needed on a 1:100 scaled drawing of a house?

Heya, I am doing my first Architectural designing project and need to draw plans, sections and elevations of my house and was wondering if anyone can tell me how much detail is needed for a 1:100 drawing. How do you represent windows and does the roof/floor walls differ in thickness then other walls? If will be great if you could post me some example of 1:100 drawings. Thanks alot x

  1. That's a pretty small scale if you think about it ... 100 feet down to 1 foot or in the case of a building block 5 cms thick down to 0.005. The way to show more detail is to take sections of your whole plan and do those sections to a scale that allows for more detail. I can give you some links to plans which are all USA sites as UK sites ask you to either sign in or pay, but the plans are done in the same way for both countries http://www.familyhomeplans.com/plan_deta… On a slope http://www.familyhomeplans.com/plan_deta… http://www.designerplans.ca/articles/bun… The scale I'm not sure of, but at least you get an idea of how to lay out your drawing.
