How do I get a good rating in the Sims 3 Interior Design Job?

I am having trouble understanding the concept of this job. Well not necessarily the concept, but how to make them really happy. Are there some tips or ideas that can help me? I tried building a room, that was a big NO NO. Then I replaced their original and they were sort of happy, but not completely. Help! :)

2. Talk to them before you start the job, get to know their personality. (Perceptive skill really helps here; buy it with your lifetime rewards.) If the person is frugal, don't spend all their money. If they are a snob, you'd better believe you use every last dollar in the budget, lol. If they can't stand art, you'd better not add any. Party animal, give them a stereo. Basically, go for their personality. They like it if you boost the environment score (curtains, paintings, more expensive furniture, etc.). They really like it if you take a picture of them and put it in there, or if you give them one of your original artworks or sculptures. If you've got the money, sell their ugly sofa and buy them a better one. You can do this for anything, not just the stuff that they want renovated. Hope those help!
