Do I need a Pack N Play?
I am trying to figure out if I really need a pnp or not. I am supposed to be getting a bassinet for free from a family member. I could put a full sized pnp next to my bed but space would be tight. I plan on keeping the baby in our room for the first month or so and then into it's own crib. I have a bouncer chair and a swing. So I'm trying to figure out what I would use the pnp for. We don't travel and grandparents have a pnp already at their house. The only thing I could see using it for would be in the living room and outside on sunny days(we live in PNW). I live in a 1800sq ft house that is ranch style, with rooms right next to each other. I do have 2 dogs but not worried about them at all. So should I invest in a pnp?

- If you already have a bassinet, then no you really don't need one. I dont know where PNW is, but its going to be winter soon.. how often will you be outside with your newborn to need one for there?
- If you have no need for one, don't buy it. Good Luck and Congrats!
- No. It's a waste of money in your situation, i'd think. The only time we've used ours was when we were staying with my mother, and when we first moved into our new house and were transitioning from a crib to toddler bed. It was just easier to not put his crib up and wait for the toddler bed.
- We have ours in the living room for our 91/2 month old to play in. Shes cruising and climbing everywhere and its not safe in our living room with the TV stand, Fireplace, Bookshelf and wooden floors. Also chasing our 3 cats isn't much fun for the poor cats. Couldn't live without it lol. Its also nice to know that she is safe in her PnP while I make lunch or have to do some laundry.
- I had one for my oldest he NEVER used it! I put my nephew in it like once.. so I just wound up giving it to my sister.
- I used mine a lot more than I ever imagined. My daughter would sleep in her bassinet at night but during the day she'd nap in her pnp (we wanted her to be able to sleep through noise). We also used the changing station attachment for a long time. It was really handy when we went camping. You could always buy one after the baby's born if you're not sure if you'll need one now.
- umm, i don't think u do....my baby slept in her bassinet by my bed till she was 6 months or so...a pnp in so too close to the ground..I have never seen a baby that liked to be in a pnp.
- I would definitely get a Pack N' Play! They are great for traveling, going outside or napping. http://www.findmycarseat.com/the-benefits-of-a-pack-n-play/ Hope this helps!
