Christian, what does god got against people who are pride of their accomplishments?

This another one of my atheist curiosity question. Lets say a person who work for his entire life went to a four-year college graduated then went into graduate school done what he/she had to do and became successful. He/She buys him/herself a luxury house, fancy expensive cars, and the best quality of living. Which is an American dream after all. He/She lays back on his/her executive fine leather chair and reflect back to the hard aches, the constant studying, the over night working at a food market store, and becomes very pride of how far he/she came to get where he/she wanted to go. Might a have smile on he/she face while remembering too, but never becomes self absorb by the material he/she possessive because he/she knows what it is like to be in stricken poverty. But as ever becoming very pride of him/herself. Is pride, ambition, self reliance, and the human will br should be freon upon? Because I'm a freshman in college right now working to get to that point, but I plan going through R.O.T.C. and becoming a commission U.S. Army officer. Does your god not like someone to be proud period? I'm not trying to sound self centered I thank people when I was still in high school without them I probably would be lost right about now. They help guided me above all else. Even before I became atheist, I prayed to god for guidance and wisdom a, but I lost faith because I felt alone. So, I'm sorry if I didn't clarify this further. Yes I'm dependent on my parents still and they help along the way, but they themselves aren't college educated I'm the first family generation to ever go to college. But that doesn't make me king or something I know nothing about how far my parents came to get to where they're now. Right now all the pride should go to my parents because they are proud of me above anything else. I simple saying if not being proud in anything then whats the point of doing it?

  1. Is pride, ambition, self reliance, and the human will br should be freon upon? pride is arrogance that assumes i am greater than others yes it is evil to be wealthy and ignore the poor and suffering Does your god not like someone to be proud period? yes a prideful heart boast how great they are
  2. Since God is presently giving you life and breath and also gave you your giftings and talents don't go to far with the pride thing beyond loving yourself as Jesus commands ("Love your neighbor as yourself).
  3. If you are, do you attribute your accomplishment just to yourself? Is there more people whom you could thank? Your parents? God? God does not hate you. He does hate unbridled pride and He also hates what is bad. But, then again we all hate what is bad when we are pointed out what is bad. Just try to be the best person you can be. If you want to please God, then find out what pleases Him. If you do not want to please Him, use your gift of free will. He is the only one who gives you that.
  4. because you put yourself above god. he gave you the legs, brain ,opputunities, ect.ect what if someone worked just as hard as you ,studied twice as hard as you, actually he wasnt good at remembering so he studied three times as hard, but just didnt make it. do you feel you deserve it more,he worked harder than you. its only by gods gift we have anything, god bless loveturtle0@gmail.com
  5. www.amazingfacts.org www.adventist.org Keep the Law under Grace. The Moral Law(Ten Commandments) was given to Israel in trust for all mankind. It has never been abrogated but ia as unchangeable as its author, being based on our essential relationships to Him and our fellow men, and it is of perpetual and universal obligation(Matthew 5:17-20). Exodus 20:8 "REMEMBER THE SABBATH(Saturday) DAY, TO KEEP IT HOLY." Jesus observed the Sabbath day of his own people. It was his custom yo keep the Sabbath day Holy(Luke 4:16). The Great Teacher never intimated that the Sabbath was a ceremonial ordinance or exclusive to the Jewish people. The Sabbath was given to all mankind. It is evident that Christ did not change the Sabbath in the New Testament. Nor did he set the seventh-day of the week aside. Nowhere in the Bible is it stated that worship should be changed from Saturday to Sunday. The Bible declares that we should keep Holy the Sabbath Day.
