Does anyone think this luxury dog culture is really hilariously stupid?
I'm starting to get jealous of our dog! She hired this pet nutritionist because she's unhappy with the kibble breath. So now she feeds him a pet nutritionist prescribed home-cooked meal plan. They charge you shㅣt load of money each time you visit them as well as a opening account fee. I was amazed companies like this even existed. And she came home yesterday with 2 Juicy Couture cashmere sweaters for him because it's getting chilly outside at night, and she doesn't want him to catch a cold. And I saw the receipt for the sweaters, they were 90 dollars each. Why does a dog need cashmere sweaters anyway? They have their own fur coat they were born with. AND did you know there's a cable TV channel for your dogs? We pay $18/m for it. -_- it's the stupidest thing ever, basically, it just has videos of dogs running around happily and it's supposed to be a channel for your pet dog so you can have it on when you are leaving the house. She spends $155 every time at the groomer's salon, and she gets mad at me for going to a salon for a blow out before parties. Maybe the groomer charges a lot because he's a poodle, but still, I mean, does a dog really need "conditioning manicure" and aromatherapy sessions? My mom insists Henrii (YES, double i's) attends the sessions once every 2 months. And this salon has "Mommy and I" package where the owner and the dog gets salon treatment together. O M G I'm sorry, but if she loves her dog so much, she should just walk and play with her dog more at the PARK, not at a salon. Henrii probably gets to scared and depressed at those salons and in those thick cashmere sweaters! Well... my mom had me and my sister, so she has had kids before. i guess she wanted a son? but that's besides the point! The fact that these places exist must mean there are lots of other people like her on this planet!

- Am I the only one who's super confused right now?
- rofl i know dogs arent meant to be treated like that they want love a good owner plenty of play room and decent food i think its funny how some people do this
- The dog is the children she never had. At least, I'm assuming she never had kids.
- Yes - very stupid. I would NEVER take my dogs to a "doggie day spa". Not even I've been to one!! All it is? Treating the dog like a human baby substitute which in turn leads to behavioural problems. Dogs are dogs and should be treated as such.
- Wow, your mom needs therapy if shes treating the dog like this over you. People now adays forget that an animal is an ANIMAL. I know, astonish right? But contour to popular beleif, theyre not humans! There are tons of people out there like that if not worse. Their dog growls at people and they talk to it like, "Oh stop that dog is your friend, be nice". Like the dog understands, or something. She wanted a son? Sons dont go to spas and get their nails done, daughters do. She knows this could lead to behavioral problems right? Wait .. no, she doesn't if shes acting like that torward her dog. Im going to assume shes not married .. just saying.
- Wow. Suggest this: If she wants to spend so much money on HER dog, why not donate it, instead, to a dog charity or to the Humane Society? But, seriously... That's a bit ridiculous... I think your questions is the exact opposite of mine! Hahaha. I'll add a link. ETA: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ag3lIt_zpvrw1zsjR3R0___ty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20100823122603AAdwH02 See? Opposite of my mother... I don't know which is worse!!!
- Total BS, people with too much money and no time . I have a small dog. A rescue dog, who is probably a pure bred long haired Chi. I adopted her because I have a small house and yard now, though I had BIG dogs when I lived in the country. NO, I don't walk my baby every day....but I do run and play with her in the yard. YES. I baby her....yes....I cuddle her. and YES....I put a coat on her for outside in the winter. Did I spend hundreds of dollars....NO. Poodles do grow big fuzzy hair, which I think is adorable, without all the shaving, poofing. Big Poodles are a 'society' dog, and I guess smaller ones are too. Shave and clip and turn into something else....and some people say....OH What a beautiful dog......... NOT me. Oh well.......
- I'm a bit confused about what you are talking about. Do you mean your mom treats your dog better? The dog goes to a human salon?
- Wow. I am really confused now. Your mom wanted a son so she replaced you with a dog? Wow...I don't know what to say.
- I think she is overreacting. The dog isn't a human, no dog needs clothes. dogs were wild once, and they never got cold in the night, and they never had blankets or sweaters or shoes or anything! they fought for their food, they wouldn't go to someones house to be fed and they wouldn't sleep on a couch or bed or doggie bed. The dog would probably feel a lot better if he got to go run at the parc, he probably feels trapped...if she wanted a son, she could have adopted one, not a dog, because the dog probably feels in hell, he doesn't get what he is suppose to do. A dog likes running and getting dirty, not going to the salon once every 2 months.
- I agree. But I spoil my dog rotten too. I want her to be happy and I revel in her happiness. That is why I spent so much time training her, am outside so much and she is always with me: walking, playing on the lawn, going to herding lessons and agility trials. So she can accompany me around the farm off leash, run, work with me, play in the sprinklers, cool off in the water troughs, play in the pond....get tired and dirty.
