Do you think a church would hire an atheist architect to design a new building for them?

- They would have no choice, they are not allowed to do background checks on religion.
- Why ever not? They would choose the person best suited for the job
- I would think so. Wouldn't it be discrimination if they didn't allow it?
- of course. don't let them know.
- Depends on the church. The more extreme ones probably wouldn't even accept anyone outside their group unless they had to (although if they did they might not think it would matter, seeing as how to some of them any other Christian group is just as 'evil' as atheists), but the more moderate ones may not think it too important.
- Certainly. Then they would know that it had been constructed correctly and that no one was dependent upon "god" or gods to hold it up.
- I can't se why they wouldn't - but then again they do a lot of other things that I can't see any justification for... Personally I'd just get whoever was best qualified for the job. -Stigma
- maybe but dont hold your breath..
- They're still most likely to go with the best value no matter what the religion of the architect. After all, even if you disagree with somebody's devotional practices (or lack thereof), you can still acknowledge their other intellectual aptitudes.
- I lived in Kentucky for 4 years. Where I lived, if you wanted something built well, you hired the Amish work crews in the area.
- Do you think an atheist architect would want to be hired by a church to design a new building for them? I kid: the first poster has it. Neither party has any real reason to discriminate against one another if they are all mature adults, and an architect is there to do his job.
- Maybe this is an "outreach ministry" in disguise to reach the lost. Seriously, the atheist architect may have believers working for him, doing the majority of work.
- Yes, they hired enough GAYS.
