Blender rendering, modeling, 3-D animation software. How to?

Im a new user. Downloaded it yesterday for iMac OS X and after reading the instruction im still having trouble understanding it. From button function to well...anything else. Id like to get started tho. Mainly using this ro understand architectural design more. Does anyone know of a site or can explain jow to use this please?
