High Paying Jobs in the South Of France?
Alright,so i know the language poorly but i have a good amount of years to learn it and become fluent hopefully. I plan to live there probably the rest of my life. I live in the USA and I was just wondering what kind of jobs i could take? Enough for food, cable, and nice luxury house stuff. I don't think i can be anything that deals with money so much. I Want enough also to take vacations back to the USA and visit my family frequently. I do want a home too. What are some options for me? Being a native english speaker give me advantages? Also,i do not look into teacher or anything that makes around that wage.... Not a doctor or a lawyer >< kinda above average ish.

- For a high paying job giving you a luxurious life style you need lots of studies, and if you're good enough you can even go by with average French instead of fluent. High tech computer engineer at Sophia Antipolis or Gardanne Chemical engineer for oil industries at Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône, Fos-sur-Mer, Berre-l'Étang Metal engineer for high tech metal industry at Fos-sur-Mer Nuclear engineer at Cadarache, Eurodif, Tricastin A succesful marketing executive... And don't forget that we have high taxes here, taken at the source. It covers health insurance, unemployement insurance and lots of other things you have to buy in the private sector in the US so it does make it up but that means that your salary is lower than in the US. Of course, you will also have to learn to work French way. It does mean less hours of work and real holidays, but it also means a higher work output than the US. While in the US you take many breaks to survive the hugely long work day, in France you have to do as much work in a much shorter period so you work harder. US workers who don't change their working habits while cutting down on their working hours get a very bad rep here. Last but not least, to settle in France you will need to find a job first. It is as difficult to get a working visa in France as it is to get a green card in the US. Being a native English speaker doesn't give you any advantage in a native French speaking country. It is a handicap if you don't speak French. I'm afraid there's no free lunch, even in sybaritic, lazy France.
- You will most likely need to learn French to find a job in France and cannot work in France as a US citizen without first getting a work visa.
