I'm a cardiologist, I make around $700k per year and my wife is an anesthesiologist, so she makes about $500,000 a year. I researched home-buying techniques, and it said that you can afford a home twice your salary. So would that mean we can afford a $2,000,000 dollar home? We wouldn't EVER buy that big of a home, but we were just wondering. And this home, http://www.eplans.com/prairie_house-plan… is worth $935,000, so could we afford this? To Amarreta: I don't feel like paying for advice. I'm asking you guys, because this is for University +, so I thought you guys might know... To MOZ: We currently live in a $200k home, so nothing to special. We have relatively nice things, but they aren't top of the line. We have two kids, one two and the other just a few months, and we have a ton of excess cash rolling in. The nicest things we have are our cars, which are two Mercedes and a Ford.
