Are interior design jobs hard to find? Does it pay a lot?
I'm a sophomore in high school and I need to start thinking about what I want to do when I get older. Should I study Interior Design or would it be a waste of time? Are jobs easy to get and do you make a lot of money? plz help thanks! :)

- That may not be the best career option. We're in this thing called the global recession right now. And it's going to be a while before we come out of it. Hence, there really is limited demand for interior designers unless you're dealing with rich celebrities. The average person simply doesn't have the disposable income to spend on what is essentially a luxury called interior design. Even construction contractors, even if they have great reputations, are finding it hard to get jobs. Again, people just don't have the money to get their kitchen remodeled or build a new deck these days, for examples.
- I paid for my wife to take Interior design at the American Institute of Art in Denver. Afterward, she was qualified to work at Home Depot. Other opportunities would have opened up for her from there, but pay will never be great. The question is what do you really enjoy. If you enjoy design, you may be an enthused sales person, and get great commissions.
