questions on airplanes?

what type in engineer does this builds and designs commercial airplanes and fighter airplanes? would this be in aerospace engineering? I am planning to do this career later on however would I be perfect with a aerospace engineering degree major and a minor in avaition?

1. One engineer does not design airplanes. There is a team of mechanical, electrical, and aeronautical engineers. There are probably a few others, too. Manufacturing is a different set of skills that probably includes both electrical and mechanical engineers. There are also industrial engineers that plan and schedule assembly.Other people procure the parts and assemblies from subcontractors, quality assurance engineers that verify that things are being done according to company standards.
