building a house, school project?

my objective for my big project is to build and design an accessible house. i wonder if anyone have any ideas to make a house "green" , as is sustainable and environmentally friendly. this applies to interior or exterior design of the house thanks.

1. I'm a fan of Bamboo cabinetry and flooring. Make sure you add a tankless hot water heater and solar panels... Using insulated concrete forms (http://tinyurl.com/35y5v6) virtually eliminate drafts that can occur with a traditional wood-frame home. You can always make sure to use low-VOC interior and exterior paints, install a grey-water system... the list could go on forever! I hope that helps at least a little.
