interior design project-inspiration needed?
I'm taking an interior design class. our main project is a bedroom remodel. We have absolutly NO limits. I was planning on enlarging the room and adding a deck/porch. I plan on using colors like pale yellows and pretty greens. Does anyone have any links that could help me with flooring selections/paint colors/furniture/anything? Also, if anyone has ANY ideas then please offer them. It can be anything, so be creative!! I am doing my own homework. Asking opinions of what looks nice to others is pretty important in interior designing if you ask me. I'm just looking for someone to say something that will spark some idea for me, as I cannot decide on a theme.

- you need to do your own homework. you'll learn a lot more from your own mistakes then from someone elses. mohawk carpet sherwin-williams ashley home stores good luck
- I'm an architecture student and I've worked at a paint store for over 2 years. I can tell you every professor and designer I've worked with or under has always said your best resources are inspiration from other people who are older or have done similar projects. Just because you get an idea from someone doesn't mean you can't customize it yourself... so I totally know what you mean. As far as the colors and such go, try pittsburgh paints online. Just google it, I worked for them, they have good color selection and products. As far as furniture and such, magazines and walking around Chicago (where I live) is where I get my inspiration. Shapes of buildings, trees, colors on cars or sculptures can help out, or listening to music I haven't listened to in a while. Your colors seem very spring like, try listening to some music you think sounds like "spring" to you, let your mind paint a picture and then go from there. Good luck in school.
